Bio
I hold an AA Mississippi educator license with endorsements in Social Studies, General Science, Special Education and Psychology. I am highly qualified in Special Education for grades 7-12. I attended the University of Southern Mississippi where I earned a Bachelor Degree in Liberal Arts and a Master of Education degree in Counseling Psychology. I was a Licensed Professional Counselor in the mental health field for 20 years. I have years of experience in behavior modification and classroom management. During that time, I enjoyed working with all age ranges and mental health issues. For five of those 20 years I worked in the school setting as a behavior/day treatment specialist and as an individual/family counselor. In that time, I taught Character Education along with social and emotional skills. I am familiar with assessing and evaluating children and with working closely with their families. This has enhanced my skills and abilities in teaching. Oh, and I occasionally drive a school bus.
I am from Lamar County but had been living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 2003. I moved back to this area in 2020 to be close to family. I have one son who attends the University of Southern Mississippi. Hopefully, he will graduate soon! I am a pet owner of a dachshund and three alley cats. I like to watch football. "Prier pour moi. Je suis fan des Saints." My hobbies include spending time with family and friends, reading and sleeping when I have time.
